--about Amanda--
Hi, I’m Amanda. I’m 17 years old, I’ve lived in a little spot in East Texas called Leesburg for my whole life. I’m the third child of 8. I grew up quite the adventurous little girl; my sisters and I spent almost all our childhood chasing chickens and cows, playing in the creek, the pastures, or in the woods and making up “Girls Only clubs”. Once, I even tried to tame a cow to ride around. I seemed to always be getting hurt from my many exploits and rendezvous I led everyone in.
I grew up in a Christian family but never really understood the Christian life. After years of searching, at age 13 I gave my life to Jesus. But it wasn't till I was 16 that I actually started living a true relationship with the Lord.
Through a chain of several events, God made the need all around us right here in the States-in our own towns and cities-so obvious and evident to me. It came to the point where I couldn't ignore the people I had seen
going hungry, unable to clothe their children, generally unable to provide. These people have all been through something that obviously knocked them off their feet. I realized...it's time for me to help them. So I started the Project: Give Love/Give Life.

I accepted Christ as my savior when I was 10 years old. God opened my eyes when I was 17 that He had a plan for my life, and that He wanted to use me for His glory. He has given me the opportunity to serve him quite a bit the past year. While at camp my friend, Amanda, sent me this 10 page (or so it seemed) message telling me about this vision she had.
Immediately, I was hooked. I knew this would be a way we could let others know how much God loves and cares about them. We have already seen evidence that God is working through this project and we can’t wait to see what He does through us.
